Navratna public sector undertaking NBCC (India) Limited has issued revised General Conditions of Contract (GCC) making it mandatory for contractors to plant 5 trees for each Rs 1 crore value for projects having estimated cost upto Rs 100 Crore.
Dr. D. P. Mishra, Associate Professor, Department of Mining Engineering has been awarded with the prestigious MEAI- Smt. Bala Tandon Memorial Award 2017-18 by the Mining Engineers' Association of India (MEAI) for his contribution in improving Ecology and Environment in Mining and Mineral Industries.

The development of the Lithgow region is associated with two main activities, the construction of a road across the Blue Mountains from Sydney to Bathurst between 1815 and 1830 and the subsequent construction of a rail line to connect these two areas in the 1860s and1870s.
The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, the increasing use of steam power, the development of machine tools and the rise of the factory system.
