For ease of understanding, I will number the various Thompsons! The business seems to have really commenced with Robert Thompson #1, (1797/1860), who as early as 1819 built small ships below Lambton Drops, & in 1820, with seven others, built a vessel of 10 to 12 keels, at North Sands.
Together with France, the Iberian peninsula is one of the prime areas of Paleolithic cave paintings, with 18 caves forming the World Heritage Site of Cave of Altamira and Paleolithic Cave Art of Northern Spain; they are close to the coast in Cantabria, Asturias and the Basque Country.
